And if I may make some recommendations, I have two Back to School resources in which you might be interested.

The first one is a brand new, second edition for

This one has active games, stories, surveys and even an interactive notebook piece for a syllabus!  I am actually using these plans with my students this year and I guess that's why I am so fond of it.  :)

Of course, the first edition of Back to School Plans for Middle School has also served me well in my classes and I think it is also a good choice:

This comes with a BINGO board and a getting-to-know-you craftivity that would be great to display at open house!

My last recommendation is not *just* for Back to School but that's a good time to start:

Why I believe in this:   It makes scaffolded instruction easy by helping one teach the four parts that all essays must have with an easy to remember and motivating mnemonic.

Plus, it's something you can use ALL year long!  You build the display as you teach each piece and part of an essay.  It comes with many graphic organizers and more mnemonics to help students remember key information.   Not only is it a great anchor chart system but it comes with a flipbook as an interactive notebook piece.  This could take your posting of critical information up a notch!

Good luck with the new school year!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
